Whatever the reason, Card Tricks are an essential part of any Magician’s performance. Some require difficult sleight-of-hand techniques, most just need you to distract your audience while you ‘do the deed’, many can be done in full view. A few need gimmicked decks or pre-prepared decks in order to work.

The marked deck is a rarity these days; after all, who needs to remember 52 different secret markings, all small enough to go unnoticed by the audience? Far easier to ‘force’ your victim to pick a specific card (she thinks she had free choice, but we know better!) then ‘control’ the card to the top or bottom of the deck where it sits until you magically produce it.

A favourite technique of mine (called; the Glimpse) is to openly look at the card (this becomes the ‘Key card’) above the selected card as the victim replaces it in the pack; all I have to do then is find that card and I know that the one below it is the selected card. Simple. The victim, and the rest of the audience, were all concentrating on the return of the selected card to the deck and didn’t notice me tilt the top half of the deck so that the underside of the card was visible. A few cuts then make it look as if the card is mixed up in the deck (a cut rarely splits the two cards that you want to keep together, but to be sure, Glimpse the bottom card after the last cut – if it is your Key Card, cut once more) and I then deal the pack onto the table until I see the card I viewed earlier. A nice twist is to carry on past the selected card, dealing say, another 3 cards before stopping and announcing “the next card I turn over will be the one you selected.” The victim gleefully disagrees – you can take bets on it if you want – and then you reach over to the selected card and turn that one over.

There are lots of card tricks you can learn easily that can be found at many dedicated magic websites. Many magic card tricks are offered free at these sites and are easy to learn. If you want to impress your friends in the bar or at the party, learn some magic card tricks and you will always be in demand!

This prediction card trick is one of the basic routines that every aspiring magician should have in their repertoire. It has been around for centuries and can be performed hundreds of different ways, but if done well, still has the power to amaze your audience. The Card Trick
Holding a deck of cards face down in your hands, fan them out and ask for a volunteer to help you with the trick. Holding the fan of cards with one hand use one of the fingers from your other hand to point at the fan. Run your finger around the fan of cards and ask the spectator to say stop when your finger is over the card that they want.
The chosen card is then shown to the audience and returned to the pack, which is then handed to a member of the audience to be shuffled. The magician then proceeds to reveal which card was originally selected. The Secret
At the start of the performance, hand the deck to a member of the audience and ask them to shuffle the cards. When the spectator hands the cards back, take a quick look at the card on the bottom of the deck. This is going to be the card that they “select”.
Next, fan out the pack and get another person from the audience to select a card. Run your finger across the cards and ask them to say “Stop” when your hand is over the card that they want.
When they say “Stop” put the thumb of the hand that’s holding the cards on the top of the selected card. With your other hand, gather together all the cards on top of the selected card and get ready to slide the whole packet of cards (including the chosen card) off the top of the deck so that the audience can see the card that has been selected.
But while you’re gathering the cards on top of the selected card together, use the fingers of your other hand to work the card on the bottom of the pack towards you.
The aim is to slide this card from the bottom of the pack (the one you already know) at the same time as you slide the cards from the top of the pack.
This allows you to make sure that the card on the bottom of the pack becomes the “chosen” card, while giving the illusion that you are displaying the card that has been selected.
Once you’ve done this, show the “selected” card (the one from the bottom off the pack) to the audience.
At this stage you can stand back and let the audience do the next part of the trick. The trick will be far more impressive the less direct contact you have with the cards.
Ask the person who chose the card to take it and make sure everyone has seen it apart from you. Then ask someone else to take the whole pack of cards, replace the chosen card and give the deck a good shuffle.
Now it’s time to reveal to the audience that you know which card was selected. There are hundreds of ways to do this, so let your imagination run wild.
If you want to add extra sparkle to this routine, try this; when it’s time to reveal the chosen card, hold the deck of cards face down over the table and flip the cards over one by one.
When you reach their card, turn over another three or four cards and then stop. Say to the audience “I bet you that the next card I turn over will be yours!”.
At this stage they’ll be eager to accept the bet because the chosen card is already on the table and they’ll think that you’ve made a mistake.
So imagine their surprise when you reach out to the table and turn their chosen card face down.

Learn Card tricks if you want to become a Magician. Card Tricks are an essential part of any Magician’s performance. Some require difficult sleight-of-hand techniques, most just need you to distract your audience while you ‘do the deed’, many can be done in full view. If you learn a few simple techniques then you can make up your own card tricks!
The False Shuffle is one of many and possibly the easiest to do. With it you can appear to fully shuffle the deck whilst actually maintaining the top card in place or keep the bottom card in place or move the top card to the bottom or bottom card to the top. In all of these moves, keep the backs of the cards towards the audience or they might spot the selected card during the shuffle.
Keeping the top card in place; hold the pack in your left hand, face down, tilted at about 45 degrees with the backs toward your right hand. With your right hand remove the top half of the pack. Flip the pack upright with your left thumb so that the backs of the cards rest against your finger tips. Using the same thumb, start to detach small packets of cards from the half pack held by you right hand so that they drop alternately on top and bottom of the deck. The pack is alternately supported by the thumb and the tips of the other fingers as it is rocked to allow cards to drop on either side. Your forefinger should be bent against the top card to prevent it accidentally moving when you are dealing the last package. Continue this until all cards are back in the pack making sure that the last cards go on the top.
Move a card from top to bottom; as above but make sure the last card goes to the bottom.
Keeping the bottom card in place; as above but take the half pack from the bottom of the deck and ensure that the last card goes back on the bottom.
Moving a card from bottom to top; as above but ensure the last card is dealt to the top.
In many tricks you will have a selected card replaced at the centre of the pack. You need to control this card to the top or bottom. One way is to hold a break in the pack by squeezing it as the two halves of the pack are reunited. This pushes your own flesh in the way of the pack coming back together and enables you to separate the two halves again at the required point. To move the card to the top, make the break above the selected card in other words get your fingertip in the way after the card arrives on top of the half deck. Now simply cut the deck at the break and the card arrives at the top. Use the false shuffle to move the card to the bottom if you need to.
These techniques are the basis of many card tricks and if you master them – practise them! – you will soon be able to develop your own magic.

Some card tricks commonly considered magic tricks require fairly good manual dexterity in order to shuffle the deck, palm a card, and do a double lift or a pinky block. Others require careful shuffling, counting and moving stacks of cards around in just the right order to get the desired results.
Here’s a magic card trick that requires very little preparation and doesn’t even require any particular dexterity in order for you to make it look good. In fact, this is a magic card trick that a child could easily do and make it look good. The important thing is to practice until you’ve got the movements perfected and to practice your patter as well.
Advance preparation is to find two cards of the same suite and class, such as two queen of diamonds cards. One of these cards should be placed in your wallet. The other matching queen should be placed on top of the deck that’s on the table. On one side of the wallet place a small piece of magician’s tape or double-sided tape.
When you are ready to begin the trick, ask a member of the audience to come forward and pick a card from the deck. Ask them to place it on top of the stack of cards on the table without looking at it. Then, pull the wallet from your pocket and talk about how you are able to make predictions of the future. Tell your audience that in your wallet is proof of your statement.
During your spiel, casually lay the wallet, sticky-tape side down on the deck of cards. The top card which is the one your audience member chose will stick to the wallet due to the sticky tape, but don’t let the audience see the card and tape. Open the wallet slowly, making the suspense last and pull out the queen of diamonds cards that you placed there earlier.
Then slowly turn the top card over revealing the queen of diamonds on that card and the match with the one pulled from your wallet. It’s important to let no one see the unknown card which is stuck to your wallet.
Another card trick which does require an accomplice, but is easy to do and makes it appear that you can read minds is similar to a Whispering Queen trick. First you make a point of pulling the Queen of Diamonds out of the deck and show everyone that you have it. Then proceed to deal a nine card array face up, 3 by 3 cards, taking note of which nine cards are where. Have an audience member lightly touch one of the cards, while you have your back turned. You can even hold the red queen up saying she is taking note of which card was selected so she can tell you.
Then, hold the card up to your ear as if you are listening. After building the suspense, hand the queen to your accomplice and ask him to examine the card to make sure it’s not a mini camera and no mirrors, etc. Once he has examined the card saying nothing is out of the ordinary with it, he will be pre-instructed to lay the card down casually in front of him in the same position as the card selected by the audience member.
Then it is an easy matter for you to select the correct card from the display, and your audience won’t be able to figure out how you knew which card to select.

Magic tricks are great for school or club talent shows in which your child wishes to participate. Quite often, children are left at a loss when it comes to participating in talent shows and may feel left out if they cannot think of a talent that has not been chosen. Magic tricks are not only great for stage and street performance but are also well suited for entertainment at parties or as ice breakers at small gatherings. Magic tricks are designed to please such a crowd, which inevitably forms a majority at most gatherings. Children especially, are popular audiences for magic tricks since they are the most avid believers.

Imagine yourself performing several card tricks in front of your friends and amaze them with how flawlessly you can manipulate playing cards. Learning card tricks does not only require you to learn the tricks themselves, but as well the principles behind each of them. Imagine showing a spectator an opened empty soda can, you add a little magic, and make it completely restore and reseal! And to prove it, you pop the cap open and pour yourself a drink!

Magicians who wish to add mental acts to their routines, party entertainers or anyone wishing to give an amazing performance of mental magic will find the internet a perfect resource for their needs. A magician can snap his fingers and tell a spectator to open their hands to see what’s happened. When the spectator opens their hands, they don’t see what they expect – a complete change has taken place while their card is in their hands.

Magic created through staged illusions, however, operates in space that extends beyond the conjurer’s ambit to that where the increased scale is implicit to the nature and purpose of the illusion. Such discrepancies in scale serve to condition the similarities and differences between the work of the conjurer and the creation of staged illusion in the theatre. Magic is about a deftly performed trick, using lies, misdirection, illusion and engineering, far ahead of its time.

Magic is one area in which deception is a virtue. The magician who can effectively deceive the audience, through carefully rehearsed “casual” gestures, skilled acting and concealment will be all the more effective.

A magic card trick usually relies on either placing a certain card exactly in the deck where you want it, or forcing the audience member to choose the card you want them to choose or both. There are several ways to place a card in a particular position in a deck of cards.
There are some techniques which must be mastered by the aspiring magician in some of the in tricks. For example, the movement called the “double lift” is a common method for choosing just the right prearranged card. A double lift is picking up two cards as if they were one. The audience must not realize you’re holding two cards or the illusion will be spoiled. A second technique which must be mastered for many of the card tricks to be successful is the “pinky break.” This is done by holding the deck of cards in such a way that they can be slightly separated with the pad of the little finger. In either case, the actions must appear totally natural. You will need much practice in order to do either the double lift or pinky break correctly.
Practicing in front of a mirror gives you the same view your audience will see when you are performing the trick for them.
Another thing which will need to be perfected is your flow of conversation. You must sound natural, sound as if you are fully explaining what you will do and make it believable. This is part of the fun of a successful illusion.
Here’s a magic card trick sometimes called a magic elevator, or a jumping card trick. The audience will see you show them an ace of spades from the top of the deck. It is placed in the center of the deck and when the deck is tapped, or a hand waved over the deck, the ace of spades then “jumps” back to the top of the deck.
This trick is quite easy once you master the two techniques above. First, secretly place any card in the deck at the top, with the ace of spades in the second position. When you show the audience the ace of spades you will do a double lift using the pinky break so that it appears the ace of spades is the top card.
In actuality, it is the second card. You then replace both cards on the top of the deck, face down. At this time, tell the audience that you are putting the ace of spades into the middle of the deck. They will see you take the top face down card from the stack and place it in the middle of the stack of cards. With appropriate patter and waving the magic wand or saying the magic words, you then turn over the top card-the ace of spades, which has ‘magically’ taken the elevator up through the deck of cards to be back in top position.
The audience will beg for an explanation of how you did that, but you should not ever reveal this secret. The audience really doesn’t want to know how-they just want to be entertained.
This is one of the easier card tricks, but don’t let its simplicity fool you. It still needs practice in order to make your moves look smooth and natural.

A fun magic card trick can be a great ice breaker. A simple sleight of hand is all it takes to leave everyone in awe. Whether you’re using a standard or double-sided deck of cards, learning these illusions is so simple that anyone can do it. In this article, we’ll induct you into the magic world of card tricks.
‘Reds and Blacks’ is a simple card trick for the novice magician. Get a standard deck of cards and separate the red and black cards. Lay them face down on a flat surface in front of your audience.
Have a volunteer choose one card from each pile at random, memorize them and then place each card into the opposite pile it from which it was selected. Have the person shuffle each deck separately and then place the two decks back together. Now you can look through the deck and find the card that doesn’t match the color of the cards that surrounds it.
Another trick that will astound people is teleporting cards. You’ll need a standard deck and a group of people sitting at a table with chairs. Show the group a normal card deck and ask a volunteer to replace the card on the top of the deck.
Ask the person to stand up, then deal the top card and a few more onto the table. The volunteer should then put his hands on top of these cards to “prevent them from moving”.
Toss a few cards onto the chair of the person who is standing and tell the audience that the chosen card has been teleported right from the under the person’s hands to their chair. When checked, the card is in fact on the person’s chair!
Although this magic card trick is amazing to an audience, the illusion really isn’t difficult. After the volunteer chooses a card, the magician or person performing the trick, takes the bottom half of the deck and flips it over so that it is face up, but still beneath the top half.
Once the card is placed on top of the deck, the performer flips the deck over so their card is now at the bottom. The performer then deals these random top cards to the table and asks the volunteer to place his hands on the cards.
The magician then covertly flips the deck over again so that the chosen card is on top of the deck and then deals these cards onto the chair. The trick is so impressive that guests are knocked off of their seats!
If you want to seem like you possess magical powers, forget about the bunny and top hat and just get yourself an ordinary deck of cards and learn a magic card trick. If you’d like a Svengali deck of cards to perform more advanced illusions, the Internet can conjure up the names of stores in your area that sell supplies to both amateur and professional magicians alike.

Street performances by skilled magicians such as David Blaine and the introduction of large gaming facilities, such as the casinos of Los Vegas have contributed to the increased popularity of card tricks.

Many amateur magicians specialise in card tricks due to their versatility. They are small, easy to handle and extremely cheap. They also do not require any special props or abilities, other than a fair amount of practice and a good routine, to make them work.

Most professional magicians guard their secrets jealously. There are the occasional performers who hold sessions and seminars that introduce youngsters and amateur magic enthusiasts to the wonders and intricacies that surround the performance of card tricks.

These educational gatherings, together with the many hundreds of booklets, videos and websites are available to the public. These many items now reveal the secrets behind such astounding card tricks. Elevating cards into the air, card vanishing, but ever popular, tearing a card and restoring it to its original shape.

Sleight of hand, card marking, trick decks and a variety of other ploys are used in performing card tricks. Good sleight of hand card tricks are never easy and improve only with time and practice. Card marking which is also popular with many magicians is often undetectable to the audience or person watching the trick.

There are many ways of marking cards. Juice marking and pin pricks are the most popular methods amongst beginners. However, more sophisticated techniques such as tinting the uniform back of cards and using luminous marked cards (that can only be detected through specially made sunglasses) are also used.

The ‘gambler’s riffle test’ (which entails the rapid flipping of the pack to see if there is any change in the outer design of the cards) and shining light off the card to detect punctures or other markings; are just some methods through which marked cards can be detected.

However, all card tricks, no matter how complicated they may seem, are based upon a few basic principles that are then developed to produce an entirely new trick. Professional card manipulators have swelled the ranks of magicians in recent years, and include the talents of such skilled performers as Richard Pitchford (Cardini), Ed Marlo and Allan Ackerman as well as other veterans of the art.

The Nintendo DS R4 card or the R4 card is a revolutionary storage media that is a slot 1 solution for a Nintendo DS. The Nintendo DS R4 card is a hardware hack for the Nintendo DS that can run homebrew games and other media in the Nintendo DS. Being a proud owner of the dual screened gaming console- Nintendo DS myself I ordered the Nintendo DS R4 card as soon as I came across it on a blog. The Nintendo DS R4 card enables you to run games off a Micro SD card which is inserted in the memory slot of the Nintendo DS R4 card. I thought the features it claimed of were too good to be true until I got the package on my door steps. There it was in a shrink wrapped package with a few goodies along with the Nintendo DS R4 card. There was the installation CD fir the Nintendo DS R4 card that had the application to get the necessary stuff onto the Micro SD card reader. If you don’t have a micro SD card reader it okay because they provide one. Also included in the package is a black plastic shell for the Nintendo DS R4 card that can be useful if you want to match the Nintendo DS R4 card’s color with that of your Nintendo DS. If youre on the road with your Nintendo DS the key chain cartridge holder for the Nintendo DS R4 card provided in the package can be very handy. The Nintendo DS R4 card completely changed the Nintendo DS experience for me for just about 45$. The Nintendo DS R4 card is a revolutionary (caused what is known as the R4 revolution) media enhancement for the Nintendo DS that has set standards for other mods for gaming consoles yet to come.

Card tricks are easy to learn and perform, but you must continually progress with the art. Once you have mastered the basic sleight of hand for levitating cards, called the double lift, let your audience watch every move your hands make. Card tricks are valuable tricks which are ever remembered by the audience; this also depends upon the magician and how beautifully he performs that trick which makes it an unforgettable card magic trick. Card magic is a tricky game and must be able to perform cleverly otherwise the trick will be worked out by the audience. If this happens the audience will lose their “buzz”.

Magicians and card flourishers prefer Bicycle cards and Bee cards to KEM cards because the paper finish is better for handling than the plastic finish on KEM cards. Bicycle cards come in all kinds of cool looking colours and variations. Magicians in the past, also called “sorcerers,” were a combination of entertainer and priest. Sorcerers were usually seen together with royalty. Magic becomes real in that moment when it’s happening. People may think it’s rubbish, but it helps them transcend for a moment.

Card Tricks are an essential part of any magician’s performance. Some require difficult sleight-of-hand techniques, most just need you to distract your audience while you “do the deed”, many can be done in full view. Card tricks are something that should be practised until you can do them in your sleep and do them well. Nothing ruins a good trick quicker than someone with little practice who fumbles through a trick and gives the secrets away right off the bat. Card tricks are among some of the most popular and infamous illusions used by magicians. Using free video sites like YouTube you can learn how to do simple card cuts and shuffles, some of the foundational techniques and more complex tricks.

Card tricks are a staple part of every magician’s repertoire. These are the first tricks that aspiring magicians learn to do. Sleight of hand is a skill that requires quick or clever movement of the hands. Quick is of course quick, something happening fast so your spectators are not seeing what’s going on. Sleight of hand is sometimes called leger de main, which means light of hand.

Magic tricks are for the enjoyment of the audience as well as the magician. Secondly, a great magic trick is memorable. Magic tricks are patterned on scientific laws and principles but people do not seem to anchor magic and science. The best tricks are patterned on simple premises. Magic tricks are a lot of fun to watch and they’re even better to perform. Most people believe magic tricks are too hard to learn but this isn’t always true.
